How much does MechanicX cost?
MechanicX costs £29, £59 or £119 per month depending on the size and needs of your workshop. It is a flat monthly subscription with no per-user charge and no setup fee, and it is a fraction of the bloated garage systems on the market. Optional add-ons such as Autodata, HaynesPro, Xero sync and stock control are billed only if you switch them on.
Can I get my paper records into MechanicX?
Yes. Most garages start fresh and add each customer and vehicle as it comes back in, which spreads the work over a few weeks and costs nothing. If you would rather move everything at once, send us a spreadsheet of your existing customer and vehicle list and we will help you import it before you go live.
Does my team need training to use it?
No training course and no consultant. If our 63-year-old can use it after lunch, so can your team. The screens hide accounting jargon by default and show only what each role needs, so a technician sees job cards while the office sees the diary, invoices and payments. Most garages are taking bookings within an hour.
Will it work in the workshop on a tablet?
Yes. Technicians get a stripped-down Job Cards view designed for phones and tablets in the bay: today's work, the vehicle's history, photos, parts, labour and sign-off. It needs a working internet or mobile signal in the workshop, and it runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install on each device.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. There is no long contract and no exit fee — you pay monthly and can stop at the end of any month. Your data stays yours: you can export your customers, vehicles, job history and invoices whenever you like, including on the way out.
