Can customers book an MOT on my website?
Yes. Pro plans include an embeddable online MOT booking widget. You paste a short snippet into your site, choose the theme colours, and customers pick from the MOT slots you have actually left open. Their details go straight into your diary and nothing about other customers is ever visible on your website.
Where does the MOT history come from?
The official DVSA MOT History service. Enter a registration and you get the test history, advisories and the current expiry date — free, first-hand, and not a resold data feed.
Does it send MOT reminders?
Yes. MechanicX watches expiry dates and can send reminders by SMS or email ahead of the due date, plus a re-check so a vehicle that was tested elsewhere stops being chased.
Can I plan MOT bays separately from service bays?
Yes. MOT bays are configured on their own with their own slot lengths and operating hours, so a tester's day is not swallowed by service work — and online bookings can only land in genuine MOT slots.
Is there an MOT checklist for the tester?
The worksheet includes an editable VT29-style checklist that outputs as a PDF, so the failure document goes to the customer looking like it came from a professional test station.
What happens when a customer books outside my hours?
They cannot. The widget only offers slots that survive your operating hours, breaks, holidays and closures, and it confirms the booking by SMS so both sides have a record.
